Production Designer for Stage and Screen


Saoirse studied at Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology where she did a BA in Production Design for Stage and Screen as part of the National Film School. While still In college she got the opportunity to work with a team of international masters in cinematography students on a series of short films along with ‘Banished’ (2019), an opera in Kilmainham Gaol that was staged in conjunction with RIAM. She was also production designer on 'Real Horrorshow' which was selected for the Richard Harris International Film Festival. 

This led to a placement in the props department of the Abbey Theatre for ‘Dublin Will Show You How’ and the costume department for an Irish National Opera production of ‘The Magic Flute’ where she worked as a costume prop maker. 

    In the last year she has worked in the art department on a range of commercials as a buyer and set dresser for The Tenth Man advertising agency for household brands such as Bewleys, Lidl, Jameson, Brown Thomas, Red Bull and Arnotts.  

     More recent theatre credits include set dresser/scenic artist for ‘Dances like a Bomb’ Junk Ensemble (2022) as part of the Dublin Dance Festival, scenic painter on ‘Dubliners’ in Smock Alley and Rough Magic's 'The Tempest' as part of the Kilkenny Arts Festival. She was also assistant designer on 'Joyce's Women' at the Abbey Theatre as part of the Dublin Theatre Festival and costume assistant on 'Staging the Treaty' at the National Concert Hall with Anu. 

     Her costume work with Smashing Times International for ‘Gathering on the Pond’ and ‘the Art of W/Rights’ at the Pearse Museum led to a residency with them as Set and Costume Design where she went on to design their exhibition 'State of the Art: Transformative Memories in Political Violence'. 

     Other credits include Production Designer on Swedish duo First Aid Kit's music video 'Out of my Head', 'Portaloo' a short film premiering in 2023 Art Director on 'Good Chips' another short funded by Virgin Media and premiering at the Dublin International Film Festival 2023.
